Qorvo PAC2514x Smart Battery Monitoring System
Qorvo PAC2514x Smart Battery Monitoring System (BMS) is available in three variants - the PAC25140, PAC25140N, and PAC25141N. PAC25140 is designed to monitor 10-series to 20-series Li-ion, Li-polymer, and LiFePO4 battery packs. PAC25140N is a package spin with an offset exposed pad, supporting 10s to 20s, and PAC25141N is pin compatible to PAC25140N with a reduction in the cell count to 10s to 16s. The PAC2514x modules include a fully programmable 150MHz 32-bit Arm® Cortex® M4F microcontroller, as well as cell balancing, monitoring, and protection for the battery packs. The devices provide access to multiple analog and digital peripherals required to manage high-cell-count battery packs. These include a 10-bit SAR Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), a programmable-gain differential amplifier, and multiple 16-bit Sigma-Delta ADCs for current and voltage sensing. A single-supply 145V buck DC/DC controller generates a 5V system rail to power the PAC2514x, while an integrated charge pump supports the charge and discharge FET drivers.Qorvo PAC25140 Smart BMS is available in a 10mm x 10mm, 68-pin QFN package for compact, battery-monitoring applications, including E-transportation, broad industrial battery management, garden tools, and power tools. PAC25140N and PAC25141N are a package spin using a smaller, offset exposed pad and a minor pin-out change from PAC25140. Supported serial interfaces include CAN/UART/SPI or I2C/SMBus.
