Würth Elektronik RF Products
Würth Elektronik offers a wide variety of RF products, including ceramic- and ferrite-type inductors. The ceramic type includes wire wounds, thin film, and multilayers. The ferrite inductors have high current standards for high-frequency applications. Würth Elektronik also offers filters, low pass, bandpass, shielding, and antennas for different types of signals.
RF Power
Applications that use controlled electromagnetic radiation to heat items or power various processes. WE-ACHC Inductors are needed in the RF Power field. These high-current air core inductors are suitable for high-frequency and high-current applications. Typical applications may include MRI and PA, CO2 lasers, industrial heating, welding and drying systems, PMR stations, and weather radars.
Filters
The Würth Elektronik filter portfolio includes low-pass and band-pass filters with sizes like 0603, 0805, and 1008. These filters have a wide range of applications, which include BLUETOOTH®, Wi-Fi®, GSM, IoT (internet of things), and radio systems for cellular and wireless frequencies.

On-Board Shielding
Würth Elektronik offers shielding cabinets to protect PCBs from EMI radiation. The WE-SHC series shields RF input, output, amplifier stages and oscillators, and EMC-sensitive components with plastic cases.
Balun
RF transceivers are increasingly utilizing more differential topologies due to the inherent benefit of noise reduction. A balun is always needed to communicate between a single-ended antenna and a differential line. Würth Elektronik RF-balun portfolio includes multilayer SMD baluns with balanced impedances of 50Ω, 100Ω, and 200Ω in 0603 and 0805 sizes. These baluns have applications in the 2.45GHz and 5.5GHz frequency range, which include wireless communication systems and IoT.
Matching Networks
Würth Elektronik advises customers on how to place and impedance match the antenna on the PCB. Anything (metal, plastic, batteries, LEDs, microphones, etc.) in close proximity to the antenna can change the input impedance of the antenna and result in an undesired response. Antenna matching is done to match the antenna's impedance to 50Ω in a certain frequency range.

Antennas
Due to the nature of antennas sending and receiving electromagnetic signals, they interact, are affected by the entire surrounding environment, and are extremely sensitive to electromagnetic fields. This can be extremely problematic for RF engineers when integrating into a design a small antenna, has good gain and efficiency in the frequency range of operation, and is able to work as desired in different PCB environments. Würth Elektronik multi-layer antennas (WE-MCA) are the perfect solution for RF design engineers limited by time and cost restraints. These LTCC-based multilayer chip antennas are very small, easy to tune (antenna matching), and have an excellent size-to-performance ratio. WE-MCA covers the frequency ranges from 433MHz to 5.8GHz, which include applications like Home RF/Smart home, WLAN, Bluetooth, GPS/GNSS, Zigbee, and cellular communication technologies. Particularly important are the 868MHz, 915MHz, and 2450MHz frequencies, which are extensively used in home automation.
