Texas Instruments USB Type-C™ Solutions offer power capabilities extended up to 15W via provisions that enable the source to manage current in a range of 0.5A to 3.0A dynamically. These Texas Instruments USB Type-C™ devices increase data speed rates to 10Gbps and USB 3.1 Power Delivery support supplies negotiable power up to 100W. Additional options include Alternate Modes, Display Port, and backward compatibility taking USB Type-C to a higher echelon.

The USB Power Delivery single-wire protocol is improving on the USB-C standard and cable. The device ports on the USB Type-C have a choice between source, sink, or both. Power Delivery negotiation allows devices to create a contract under current battery conditions, delivering the optimum power level for each application as needed. This option expands USB to deliver up to 100W (20V, 5A) power. Power Delivery protocol enhances data role abilities through negotiating data with video efficiency and direction.
