Texas Instruments TPSM8663x Synchronous Buck Power Modules

Texas Instruments TPSM8663x Synchronous Buck Power Modules offer high-efficiency, high-voltage input, and ease-of-use. The modules integrate power MOSFETs, a shielded inductor, and basic passives, reducing the design size.

The TPSM8663x has a 4.5V to 28V wide operating input voltage range, making it ideal for systems powered from 12V, 19V, and 24V power-bus rails. The devices support up to 6A continuous output current, whose output voltage is between 0.6V and 13V. The TPSM8663x uses DCAP3 control mode to deliver a fast transient response, good line, and load regulation, no requirement for external compensation and supports low equivalent series resistance (ESR) output capacitors like MLCC.

The TPSM86638 operates in forced continuous conduction mode (FCCM) during light load, maintaining a lower output ripple during all load
conditions. TPSM86637 operates in Eco-mode to attain high efficiency at light load.

The TPSM8663x provides complete non-latched OV (Undervoltage), UV (Undervoltage), OC (Overcurrent), OT (Overtemperature), and UVLO (Undervoltage lockout) protections, combined with power-good indicator and output discharge function features.

The TPSM8663x is engineered in a 19-pin, 5.0mm × 5.5mm HotRod QFN package, and the specified junction temperature is -40°C to 150°C.
