Texas Instruments INA500 1.7V to 5.5V Difference Amplifiers

Texas Instruments INA500 1.7V to 5.5V Difference Amplifiers include an integrated op-amp and matched resistors offering three gain options. The INA500A amplifiers offer a gain option of 1, while the INA500B and INA500C versions offer gain options of 0.50 and 0.25, respectively. The precision-matched integrated resistors of the INA500 save BOM costs and board space by removing the need for precise and low-tolerance external resistors. These amplifiers can interface directly to low-speed, 8-bit, and 12-bit ADC. The INA500 amplifiers are an excellent choice for replacing the discrete implementation of difference amplifiers built with commodity amplifiers and discrete resistors. These amplifiers are offered in standard 6-pin packages such as SOT-23 and SC70 and a space-saving X2SON package.

The INA500 amplifiers achieve 75dB of minimum CMRR, an accurate ±0.05% maximum gain error, and 3.5mV of maximum offset (referred to output) in G = 1 configuration. These are voltage-sensing INAs in difference amplifier configurations with high input impedance of >1MΩ and low quiescent current of 13.5µA. The INA500 amplifiers can handle up to 27.5V (±13.75V) input common-mode voltage in G = 0.25 with 5.5V (±2.75V) supply voltage. These amplifiers are used in power tools, industrial AC-DC, string inverters, and wearable fitness and activity monitors.
