ROHM Semiconductor SMLD12x LEDs

ROHM Semiconductor SMLD12x LEDs are available in colors ranging from red, blue, green, blue-green, and white. ROHM SMLD12x LEDs feature a long-life mini-mold chip LED with a 100% residual luminous rate even after 1000 hours. Epoxy resins with high mold hardness are commonly adopted for compact molded type LEDs. For LEDs with a short wavelength (λD<527nm), such as white, the resin may turn yellow due to the energy of the light. The SMLD12x LEDs utilize a material for the sealing resin that maintains 100% luminosity during operational testing (25ºC, 20mA IF, 1000 hours).

Additionally, the LEDs offer a 25x higher package strength than LEDs using silicone resin. Light intensity degradation can be improved by adopting the use of a new resin material improving the molding strength by 25x, compared to products using silicone resin even at high temperatures (Ta=150ºC). Superior mountability is achieved by minimizing defects during mounting on circuit boards.

The SMLD12x LEDs offer an InGan chip structure and a 1.6mmx0.8mm (t=0.55mm) small package size. The LEDs have an operating temperature of -40 to +100°C and an dominant wave-length λD range of 470nm-630nm.
