Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EV183 Evaluation Boards

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EV183 Evaluation Boards are designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MP183, a primary-side constant voltage (CV) regulator that provides accurate CV regulation without an optocoupler. These boards support buck, buck-boost, boost, and flyback topologies.

The MP183 is designed for buck applications. It typically outputs 3W with a 12V/250mA load from an 85VAC to 265VAC input. The Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) EV183-J-00A and EV183-S-00A achieve low standby power consumption and high efficiency under full-load and light-load conditions. It can pass the IEC 61000-4-5 surge immunity test and meets EN55022/CISPR 22 Class B standards for conducted emissions. The radiated emissions performance is also improved.

Full protection features include Thermal Shutdown (TSD), VCC Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO), Brown-In (B/I), Overload Protection (OLP), Short-Circuit Protection (SCP), and Open-Loop Detection (OLD).
