Microchip Technology MCP39F511x Power Monitor Demonstration Boards

Microchip Technology MCP39F511x Power Monitor Demonstration Boards are fully functional reference designed for power and energy monitoring systems based on the MCP39F511 Single-Phase Power-Monitoring ICs. The MCP39F511 PMICs are designed for real-time measurement of input power for AC-DC power supplies and to provide power and energy values. The MCP39F511 ICs include dual-channel delta-sigma ADCs, a 16-bit calculation engine, EEPROM, and a flexible 2-wire interface. These ICs employ an integrated low-drift voltage reference in addition to the 94.5dB of SINAD performance on each measurement channel. The MCP39511 PMICs are available in both single-channel (MCP39F511) and dual-channel (MCP39F511N) versions.

Two versions of the power monitor demonstration board are offered:

Single-Channel: MCP39F511 Power Monitor Demonstration Board (ADM00667)

Dual-Channel: MCP39F511N Power Monitor Demonstration Board (ADM00706)

The Power Monitor Demonstration Boards can easily be connected via USB to the downloadable Power Monitor Utility Software that offers automated control. This allows to easily experiment with all system configuration settings such as PWM output frequencies, zero crossing detection options, and event configurations. The Power Monitor Utility Software can also be used to create custom calibration setups. For most accuracy requirements, only a single-point calibration is needed. The energy meter software offers an automated calibration process that can be used to quickly calibrate energy meters and allow designers to experiment with different calibration procedures.
