Microchip Technology MCP19214 & MCP19215 PWM Controllers

Microchip Technology MCP19214 and MCP19215 PWM Controllers are dual-channel, mid-voltage (4.5V to 42V) analog-based PWM controllers with an integrated 8-bit PIC Microcontroller. These PWM controllers combine the strengths of the analog control circuit and integrated digital management that yields a more cost-efficient, configurable, and high-performance power conversion solution. The MCP19214 and MCP19215 PWM Controllers can be programmed to intuitively respond to faults for robust operation. Dynamic response to measurements or events within the system and dynamic tailoring of operations based on the environment is also programmable.

The Microchip Technology MCP19214 and MCP19215 PWM Controllers employ independent current and voltage control that allows formulating for constant current or constant voltage operation on the two control loops. These devices also support a bi-directional power supply when the two control loops are set to operate in opposite directions on the same powertrain. The internal microcontroller core of the device contains all key operating parameters, including output level, allowing for dynamic reconfigurability during operation.

The MCP19214 is offered in a 5mm x 5mm QFN-28 package. The MCP19215 is offered in a 5mm x 5mm QFN-32 package, featuring four additional I/O pins with integrated debug support.
