Mouser to Globally Distribute Melexis Sensor ICs and Systems

November 11, 2015 - Mouser Electronics, Inc. today announced a global distribution agreement with Melexis, a leading developer of advanced semiconductors, sensor ICs, and sensor IC systems for automotive, consumer, industrial, and medical applications. The company's portfolio features many of their industry-leading solutions, including Hall effect sensors, pressure sensors, temperature sensors, motor control ICs, and IC programmers.

The Melexis product line, now available from Mouser Electronics, features a broad and deep selection of sensors and ICs, including the new MLX90393 Triaxis^® micropower magnetometer. The MLX90393 magnetometer is a highly flexible 3mm × 3mm sensor designed for micropower (2.2V - 3.5V, 5µA) applications, with programmable duty cycles from 0.1 percent to 100 percent. The sensor can interchange measurement speed for both current consumption and noise on the digital output signal, making it the raw building block for any magnetic sensing application, including joystick with push detection, rotary/push knobs, and sliding switches.

Mouser is also now stocking the automotive-grade Melexis MLX90614 non-contact infrared (IR) thermometer, capable of measuring -40 to +125 degrees Celsius for sensor temperatures and -70 to +380 degrees Celsius for object temperatures. The MLX90614 thermometer integrates a low-noise amplifier, 17-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and powerful digital signal processing (DSP) unit to gain an accuracy of up to 0.5 degrees Celsius over a wide temperature range, and resolution of up to 0.01 degrees Celsius. The thermometer ships factory calibrated with a digital SMBus-compatible output for fast temperature readings.

In addition to these sensor ICs, Mouser is stocking a broad selection of optoelectronics, engineering tools, and semiconductors from Melexis, including the MLX81106 LIN RGB slave controller for four LEDs, MLX90621 far infrared array, and MLX90129 13.56MHz sensor transponder IC.
