Solar Power Applications

Fluke has designed and engineered an expansive range of robust tools specifically for solar power applications. Solar energy is becoming one of the world’s fast-growing sources of power, and Fluke is focused on tools that support the installation, service, and maintenance of solar power systems. This includes residential and small commercial, large commercial and community, and utility-scale solar needs. Solar technicians and managers need to be able to install and service equipment quickly and safely for both residential and commercial markets. Fluke tools deliver reliable performance in various solar power applications, including solar panels, combiner and inverter boxes, battery storage, electrical substations, and transmission.

IRR1-SOL Solar Irradiance Meter

Fluke IRR1-SOL Solar Irradiance Meter simplifies the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of photovoltaic arrays. The device measures the irradiance (up to 1400W/m²), temperature, inclination, and direction of a solar array in a single handheld tool. The IRR1-SOL features a rugged, compact design, a protective carrying case, and an easy-to-read, high-contrast LCD screen to read measurements in direct sunlight. A simple user interface, instantaneous solar irradiation measurements, and built-in temperature sensor make it easy to meet IEC 62446-1 requirements for testing, documenting, and maintaining photovoltaic systems. Additionally, the integrated compass and inclination sensor allow users to quickly measure and document roof and site orientation, pitch, and panel tilt while surveying, installing, or adjusting an installation.
